Abstract

This study delves to the level of self-efficacy of pre-service teacher in teaching music and arts. Employing mixed-methods explanatory sequential design, there are a total of 40 pre-service teachers selected through random sampling for quantitative phase. Quantitative result shows that the bachelor of culture and arts education pre-service teachers has a high self-efficacy in teaching music and arts, there are no significant difference found in self-efficacy when the data are grouped into gender.  This shows that pre-service teacher can teach the class with a high self-efficacy. The qualitative results improve the quantitative results by providing insights and opinions on their self-efficacy in teaching music and arts, showing how efficient they are in teaching these subjects. The study highlights the importance of self-efficacy to achieve one’s goal to perform task successfully in teaching music and arts.
